New Pavilion - help needed please!

If you ever went to the old Catleys yard in Devizes, you may have seen this building. It has been bought for the cricket club and now that we have planning permission, work has started to rebuild it at the ground. The planners were very pleased that we are recycling a building which was about to be demolished. Our new pavilion will include home and away team changing facilities, toilets and showers, a kitchen area for preparing teas and a storage section for machinery. A generous donation has been received by the club from The Mercers Company and this will be used towards fitting out the pavilion. Work
has started, thanks to all who are offering time voluntarily to make this
happen. Volunteers to help are always welcome - please
contact Andy Plank (07858 847 173) if you can spare some time to help.
We apologise for any disruption caused whilst work takes place, but trust
that you will find it worth it. |

There is no game this saturday (7th July) so it's a good chance to make progress on the building. Please join in the working party - there will be a BBQ to keep you going! |
Due to too many other commitments on 7th July it has been decided to cancel the 'Family Fun Day' for this year, hopefully we can rearrange for next season
...to Guy Perritt for his maiden 150 for the club, to Paul Haines for his maiden 50, and to Alex Husk for his maiden 5 wickets! Andy Plank has also scored 100 and there are planty of other good performances. Just a pity the rain is stopping even more good news!
15 young ladies turned up for coaching and all worked hard to learn some basic skills and then have a game. Great fun. Click here to see some photos.
We hope to see most of them come back for more coaching, either with the lads or in another separate session. But it's clear there is enthusiasm for this and perhaps we should be setting our sights high? Why not become the best girls' cricket club in Wiltshire??
Girls' cricket - special coaching session, 5th May
All Cannings Cricket Club wants to encourage more girls to play cricket.
How about coming to a taster session on Saturday 5th May from 11.00 - 12.00 at the ground, where you will get a chance to learn some skills and have a game in an all-girls (age 7+) coaching session. (No previous cricket experience necessary.)
At the end of the session you will have an opportunity to see a team of women players who will be playing at All Cannings that afternoon.
The Club has run coaching for local youngsters for over 10 years and is planning to run mixed training sessions from May. We have 4 qualified coaches. It also hopes to link in with the girls cricket league being coordinated across Wiltshire.
If you require further information contact Sally Osborne (07850 325811)
Please can you pass this on to any girls you think might be interested?
